Tips And Advice For Dad And Single Father

While women are the primary caregivers for most of the children, there are also a significant number of single fathers who are having custody of their children. According to statistics, one out of six single parents is a dad. . These single fathers are discovering what single custodial mothers have known for a long time, raising kids while trying to make a living is hard work.  They are often unaccustomed to caring for the children’s needs and are unfamiliar with the child care routine, just as some women are unfamiliar with managing their finances. But as fathers, they can and will learn, given the chance.

You'll find that single parents, in general, have a lot more similarities than differences when it comes to gender.  Single fathers approach parenting jobs much the same way that mothers do. Custodial fathers provide about the same amount of hugs, well-balanced meals, and piano lessons as custodial mothers. The fact is that single parenting is a demanding and overwhelming task, especially if the other parent is not actively involved in the child’s daily life and activities.

Although more fathers are now willing to ask for custody, roughly half of custodial fathers get custody by default, with only 20 percent winning custody in court. Child Support collection, in the meantime, has been unquestionably in favor of single mothers. According to 2000 US 2000, the proportion of custodial fathers who was awarded child support was thirty eight percent (38%). The corresponding rate for custodial mothers was 60 percent.
